Christmas Decorations

info! If you hang Christmas stockings, consider personalizing them with your name, your spouses name and those of your children. These days, even pets have stockings, so don't forget to add Fido's name on a stocking.

As we approach Christmas, everyone's looking for their Christmas decorations and new Christmas decorating ideas. It's such a wonderful time of year, a magical season where thoughts of peace on earth, kind feelings and laughter abound. Let's look at some ideas to kindle your creative side.

Going to a production of the Nutcracker Suite is a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Many theaters in large cities sell unusual, Nutcracker-themed Christmas decorations in their gift shop.
Go to the mall, right after Thanksgiving. Their lavish displays can help inspire you with new ideas for Christmas decorations.

Baking cookies can do double duty if you set aside a portion of the batch to make into ornaments. Use a pencil to poke a hole for ribbon hanging before baking. Cookies and Christmas decorations in one fun activity.
Bake a gingerbread house. There are many recipes and patterns available in magazines. Use a variety of small candies, candy canes, gel icing, frosting and other edibles. String popcorn to use as "lights" for roof edging.

Outside lighting is one of my favorite Christmas decoration projects. If you have a porch or balcony, try weaving strings of lights around railings. Trees can be transformed into living Christmas decorations. There's no reason a potted plant on your balcony cannot be given the same treatment.
If your apartment is on the fourth floor, and you have no porch or balcony, use a staple gun (do not staple through the wire!) to dress your windows from the inside. Very pretty!

Many communities have whole neighborhoods participating in blocks of Christmas decorations and light displays. Visit one for inspiration if you have the opportunity. Kids love them.
The Nativity is one of the most beautiful Christmas decorations. An oval-shaped mirror placed beneath brings this display to life. Think of places in your home where this might be shown to best advantage. A buffet, coffee table, mantel or entry hall are good locations.

Make a wreath. Make garlands. String cranberries and popcorn for garlands or the Christmas tree. Explore the dried flower aisles of a craft store. You'll find many combinations of colors and textures to make festive vase displays in each room of your home.
Poinsettia and Christmas cactus plants make beautiful Christmas decorations. If you take good care of them, they last for years.

Craft stores carry many types of wreath bases, and more Christmas decorations than you can shake a stick at! Many craft stores have handouts with pictures and instructions of Christmas decorations you can make with their products.

Now's the time to get busy! Spread the joy!

Ideas for Christmas Decorating

info! If you were interested in decorating for the Christmas holidays, you can also buy or sew Christmas stockings. These are a standard part of anyone's Christmas decorating.

There is nothing as beautiful, for some people, as a white Christmas. There is something serene and calming about fresh fallen snow glistening in the sunlight on Christmas morning. Snow isn't always a given on Christmas though, and you have the rest of your home and your lawn as decorating space to make things just as you would like them. If you are tired of the same old tired lights and tinsel, you should look around Christmas decorating ideas. There are more out there than you may realize.

Christmas decorating ideas are everywhere you look, and what you choose will greatly depend on your personal style. Most of us are not gifted in interior design, but that doesn't mean our decorations cannot be stunning. Some prefer the simple lights and other decorations that they grew up with, while others like something a little more subdued and calming. No matter what your style, just make sure you know what you want.

You can find Christmas decorating ideas in home magazines. These include most women's magazines, as well as those devoted to the home only. They often have great Christmas decorating ideas in their articles, and you may find some by looking at their advertisements. They may also have a special section with craft items you can use for Christmas decorating ideas. These can be easy enough for children, or complicated enough that it may take you a week to complete them.

You can also find Christmas decorating ideas on television. Channels like HGTV or TLC will have many ideas from which to choose, or you can find Christmas decorating ideas by watching your favorite shows. Quite often television stage sets are decorated for the holidays by professionals, and you can try to mimic these looks at home on your own. It may not be cheap, but you can do it.

You can also find Christmas decorating ideas from your local store. No matter what your budget, your store may have ideas for you. While I try to avoid Wal-Mart, you have to admire their color coordinated Christmas decorating ideas. They have stuff laid out so you can choose exactly what you want, and half of the work is done for you. Other stores have this as well, and all you have to do is decide what appeals the most to your eye. If you want something truly unique, visit stores like Pier One for Christmas decorating ideas.

Christmas Decor

info! 5) Beautiful Christmas Stocking - Baby Gund offers phenomenal 1st Christmas stockings that play Christmas melodies such as 'Frosty The Snowman' and 'Santa Clause is Coming To Town'. Stockings are soft and cuddly and they can be used year after year.

Nothing brings back wonderful memories more than the holiday season. Many people find this time of year to be one of sentimental moments and many of these moments are associated with the fine details in holiday decor. In order to capture memories of childhood some of us try to incorporate rustic characteristics in their Christmas decorating ideas.

Finding the right details to create a cozy feeling in your home during the holiday season can be quite challenging. A little imagination goes a long way when it comes to Christmas decorating ideas. Common objects can be used to create an atmosphere reminiscent of a country farmhouse or even a log cabin.

The rustic themes found in these Christmas decorating ideas are inspired by old-fashioned Christmases. You can imagine your family sitting around the fire relaxing and enjoying family time. There are a few ways to accomplish this cozy atmosphere and following are a handful of Christmas decorating ideas that can turn even the most modern home into a cozy holiday retreat. The cabin-inspired theme can be accomplished by using some simple elements that bring the woods indoors. Common Christmas decorating ideas that incorporate this theme include using pine cones and berries to adorn areas of the home. Little details like birdhouse ornaments and wild animal ornaments really bring the woods into the home.

One of my personal favorites is the country-inspired holiday decor. You can use many elements to bring a traditional feel to your living space. These Christmas decorating ideas can also incorporate Victorian items as well giving the country decorations a classic feel. Lace doilies, small baskets and glowing candles are among the many options you have to create the perfect country Christmas.
Quilters are very creative individuals. Why not use quilts as one of your Christmas decorating ideas? Quilters can create so many items suitable for the holiday season that can be displayed with pride. Christmas decorating ideas that use quilting supplies include ornaments made out of quilt blocks or Styrofoam balls covered with left over material.

There are many ways to bring rustic charm into your home during the holidays. Some Christmas decorating ideas that are often overlooked include food. You can use old fashioned recipes for beverages and snacks that can be used as part of your holiday decor as well.
Eggnog served in decorative glasses and gingerbread men are just two Christmas decorating ideas that incorporate food into the overall decor. Using simple details like these can help you create a traditional holiday atmosphere in your home.

Cheap christmas decoration

info! If you hang Christmas stockings, consider personalizing them with your name, your spouses name and those of your children. These days, even pets have stockings, so don't forget to add Fido's name on a stocking.

Decorating for the holidays shouldn't cost a small fortune. In fact, it shouldn't cost very much at all. Everyone knows someone who always seems to go all out for Christmas - decorating their house on the inside and outside. I often times wonder what their electric bills are for the winter months with having to heat their homes and have all of those outside lights on. There are many ways that you can make a cheap Christmas decoration into something more elegant and impressive. Finding a cheap Christmas decoration isn't as difficult as one might think. There are always discount stores that have strings of lights and ornaments. Buy some garland or other festive floral decorations. One thing to remember is that the more creative you can become, the better it will turn out and you may end up with an amazingly unique cheap Christmas decoration. Ornaments aren't just for hanging on the tree branches. Take some ornaments that perhaps aren't used yearly and place them around your house. One simple thing to do that always looks festive is to take several ornaments and place them on top of a hallway table or on the tops of cabinets. Get some of the cheap fake snow that discount stores sell and mix that in with the ornaments. Take a string of lights and wrap them around the ornaments. Not only does this collection of ornaments and fake snow look festive, it is also a very cheap Christmas decoration.

Christmas lights look very elegant wrapped with garland around stairways and banisters. You can purchase garland almost anywhere and it is not very expensive. Garland and lights makes another cheap Christmas decoration for both indoors and outdoors. If you have some colored candles around the house for everyday purposes, turn them into a cheap Christmas decoration. Wrap some garland around them and put them on your tables. If you have children, or are feeling childish - make some of those silly snowflakes from some white construction paper. Put the candles on top of some snowflakes or hang the snowflakes in the windows. Anything that a child makes is always unique and can be turned into a cheap Christmas decoration. Plus, think about how proud your child will be to see their artwork displayed for decoration purposes. One of the favorite things to do for making a cheap Christmas decoration is to use holiday cards that you received from previous years. Cut out pictures of festive things - Santa, reindeer, flowers, stars, etc. A great cheap Christmas decoration idea is to use those cut-outs as ornaments or also for placing around the house as dcor. Tape them to windows or doors. Not only do they make an excellent cheap Christmas decoration, but you can use them for name tags for putting on gifts as well. With some creativity and inexpensive supplies, or everyday household items and ideas, you can come up with some great cheap Christmas decoration ideas. Just remember to be creative.

Cats Christmas Stocking

info! If you were interested in decorating for the Christmas holidays, you can also buy or sew Christmas stockings. These are a standard part of anyone's Christmas decorating.

Any pet owner will tell you that an animal that is adopted becomes a real member of the family. My family has adopted a full grown cat and he is a great addition to our clan. The year we decided to show the kitty that he is an equal by getting him his very own cat Christmas stocking. I went to a few stores to find just the right one. I wound up with two cat Christmas stockings instead. The first one I chose is just adorable. The top of the stocking is white and the foot is a beautiful shade of sparkling green. The cat Christmas stocking is personalized with Purr's name and there is even a little bell to entertain the kitty as well. I really liked this cat Christmas stocking because of its size. It is 18 inches long and 8 inches wide so I can fit plenty of treats for our beloved animal in it. I chose everything from play mice to edible treats in the cat Christmas stocking. I just can't wait to give it to him on the morning of the holiday.

The second item I purchase I bought more for myself than our feline friend. I just couldn't pass this one up. The cat Christmas stocking featured a "good cat" and a "bad cat" on each side. This adorable item is just too cute even though it is too small to hold all of the holiday treats I bought for my pet. I decided to buy the cat Christmas stocking anyway as a conversation piece. The detail and cut cat character are enough to keep us talking and the concept is really funny. It's too bad that it is just so small. It also doesn't have a bell and my cat loves his bell.

The good cat on the front of the stocking for pets is sitting perfectly pretty. Her expression is one of sheer pride and satisfaction. She is wearing a Santa hat and she is the epitome of holiday spirit. The kitty on the back of the cat Christmas stocking is another story. She is facing the other direction so you only see her back. Her claws are dug into the wall and there are huge gashes streaking down where they had done their damage. Her fur is sticking up in the air and you can almost hear her angry mew. I just loved the images so much that I bought this one, too. I think that it makes a nice, humorous addition to our holiday decorations. Maybe we will adopt a kitten. The cat Christmas stocking may be put to use.

Baby Christmas Stocking

info! Handmade Christmas stockings are the stockings that are most cherished. There is nothing more wonderful than making or receiving a handmade Christmas stocking from a friend or relative.

When you are on the hunt for your baby's first Christmas stocking you will probably find a ton of options. Choosing a baby stocking that is a real keepsake is a little more challenging. In order to make sure that you invest in the right item for your baby's first Christmas stocking try a little browsing before buying. The excitement of having a new baby is overwhelming and we may feel a compulsion to purchase the intitial baby's first Chrsitmas stocking that passes our vision. However, you do want to keep this for your child in future years. Putting some consideration into such a keepsake is always a good idea.

Many new mothers like to put a lot of time and effort into creating a keepsake for their child's collection. Most of these moms will crochet a blue or pink baby's first Christmas stocking for the special commemorative holiday. The colors do not have to be pastel, either. You can choose different shades that reflect the holiday season as well. I would love to be one of those moms but I have trouble tying my shoes let alone crocheting a baby's first Christmas stocking. Some of us may have the good intentions but we are really doing everyone a big favor if we buy the finished product outright.

I found lovely baby's first Christmas stockings online. Music is very important in my home and I was thrilled to find musical Christmas stockings that can be used as keepsakes for the special holiday. There were three of these options available. The trouble was choosing just one. One of the items featured a snowman and played the song Frosty the Snowman and another featured a reindeer and played Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. The third featured Santa and played Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I loved each one of these but I thought about it for awhile and figured that I wasn't really that crazy about the song choices or the images. They just didn't appeal to my sensibilities when it comes to my baby's first Christmas stocking.

I found that getting a personalized item was the right choice for me. The baby's first Christmas stocking is timeless because I chose a traditional red and white-fur stocking for the project. The personalized stocking is perfect because it is my baby's first Christmas stocking. His name is an important part of the keepsake.

Artificial christmas Tree

info! If you were interested in decorating for the Christmas holidays, you can also buy or sew Christmas stockings. These are a standard part of anyone's Christmas decorating.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way. Hey, who can ever get sick of that tune? It's a classic. Your mom and dad sang it to you when you were still in diapers. Am I right or am I right? Okay, please tell me I'm right here, because my parents sang that thing over and over. Anyway, as you already know, that wonderful Christmas season is on the way. Although it may seem like we just did the holiday thing, it is right upon us once more. Time flies folks. So, what are you doing for this gay and gleeful Christmas season? Are you sticking around the old homestead and decking it out with millions of lights, statues, props, and nativity scenes? This sounds like a blast. Maybe you can finally beat that neighbor's dazzling array. Okay, now for the big question; is it going to be an Artificial Christmas Tree or the real deal? Am I getting ahead of myself here?

When it comes to Christmas, the tree is always a big deal. Do you even know the reason we prop a decorated tree up in our living rooms? In all honesty it has nothing to do with Christianity like many people assume. In fact, it might even be related back to the pagans. Okay, you probably didn't want to here that, but it is a tradition worth checking into. Knowledge is power, folks. Regardless, we all love to get that tree up and decorated each and every year. I think many of us have it up by the beginning of December. What can we say? We love the holidays. Personally I prefer an Artificial Christmas Tree. Now, I know what you're thinking. How could I possibly prefer an Artificial Christmas Tree over the real deal. Well, it comes down to a few basic things. Number one; you don't have to deal with the yearly routine of going out and paying some jacked up cost for a tree that's going to die soon. Number two; you don't have to deal with clean-up when you have an Artificial Christmas Tree. And number three; you don't have to dispose of the tree after Christmas is done. Not to mention an Artificial Christmas Tree is less likely to catch on fire. Ah ha, you didn't think of that one did you? If you are looking for a nice Artificial Christmas Tree to celebrate this holiday season, then you may want to check out Lowe's or Home Depot. These massive stores typically offer a variety. Oh and don't forget that with an Artificial Christmas Tree you'll already have one the following years as well.

Making Heirloom Christmas Stockings

info! To create your own Christmas stockings, visit Christmas Stocking patterns.

The Christmas stocking is a wonderful tradition of the holidays. What would Christmas be like without that feeling on Christmas Eve when the children hang their stockings out for Santa Claus?

A Brief History of the Christmas Stocking

The Christmas stocking is a particularly enjoyable part of holiday celebrations and traditions. The practice of hanging up stockings is said to have originated with St. Nicholas. While trying to help a poor man who needed a dowry for his daughter, he tossed a bag of gold through the man's window. The bag landed in a young lady's stocking that was hung up to dry.

info! Others believe the practice of hanging Christmas stockings started in Holland. Children would leave their shoes outside to be filled with toys from Sinter Klaus.

Others believe the practice of hanging Christmas stockings started in Holland. Children would leave their shoes outside to be filled with toys from Sinter Klaus. Over the years, the shoes (clogs) were replaced with stockings.

The beautifully crafted creations of today are a far cry from the socks of my own childhood - which are still used today by my children. Despite their misshapen, stretched and generally saddened condition, these stockings that they've had since childhood are brought out with glee each year by my children.

Why not create similar treasured gifts as presents for your friends and family this festive season?

Creating Heirloom Christmas Stockings

Handmade Christmas stockings are the stockings that are most cherished. There is nothing more wonderful than making or receiving a handmade Christmas stocking from a friend or relative. Handmade Christmas stockings can be knitted, cross-stitched, crocheted, embroidered, quilted or made from felt, silk, velvet, or other fabrics.

info! If you hang Christmas stockings, consider personalizing them with your name, your spouses name and those of your children. These days, even pets have stockings, so don't forget to add Fido's name on a stocking.

How to Make a Christmas Stocking

Craft stores and Internet sites sell Christmas stocking patterns or kits for you to use to make your own stockings.

Trace an existing Christmas stocking onto cardboard to use as a pattern. Add 1 all around for seams and 3 at the top to fold under. Felt is the most common material used because it does not ravel, so you don't need to hem it.

However, if you sew, you can use almost any material. You can pink the edges of felt for decoration or add colorful cuffs. A size 14 needle and 100% polyester thread works well. If you sew by hand, sew around at least twice for strength. Cut out two stockings using your pattern. Put the right sides together and sew around, except for the top. Trim the inside seams. Turn the stocking right-side-out. Turn the top 3 to the inside and sew in place. Add a loop for hanging. Decorate as you wish.

info! If you were interested in decorating for the Christmas holidays, you can also buy or sew Christmas stockings. These are a standard part of anyone's Christmas decorating.

These personalized gifts will be treasured and carefully packed away after the Christmas season only to be brought out carefully each year.

Christmas Crafts for Kids

Tip! When next Christmas comes around withdraw your money and repeat the process again.

With the holiday season soon upon us, it's time to think about some fun crafts you can do with your children in preparation of Christmas. My kids love doing holiday crafts, and I'm sure yours will too! It has always been challenging to find age-appropriate crafts that all of the children will enjoy making. My children each have a few years between them, so we have amassed quite a collection of crafts and craft ideas. Here are a few suggestions you can use. Consider it an early Christmas gift from me to you!

The Complete Christmas Collection. Christmas Recipes, Crafts and Kids Activities.

Bead garlands are one of my all-time favorite crafts. They are fun to make, extremely colorful, and great for children of all ages. You will need some string or plastic cord, a whole lot of beads, some scissors, and some glue. Cut the string or cord to the desired length, and thread it through the first bead. Tie a knot around that bead, and add some glue to keep it secure. Now add the rest of your beads. When you reach the end, tie the string off on the last bead and add some more glue. Now that was fun, wasn't it?

Tip! Keep track of all your Christmas spending. A good way of doing this is by carrying a small notebook and pencil and writing your purchases in it.

Pine cone ornaments have also become classics in our Christmas craft repertoire. They are appropriate for children of any age, and keep very well in storage. You will need to spend some time collecting the pine cones. We collect them when we are out walking the dog. We simply paint them with silver or gold paint, and cover them with glitter. Let them dry somewhere safe, and tie them to your tree with a piece of ribbon. Are you getting in the holiday spirit, yet?

Bell ornaments are also a lot of fun to make, and they will last for years to come. We feel that small terra cotta pots are the best to use. Have the children paint the pot green, and allow it to dry. Once the pot is completely dry, attach fake jewels or beads to it with glitter glue. Then thread a small bell with some ribbon, and pull the ribbon up through the hole in the pot. Tie a knot in the ribbon so the bell stays secure, and add any other final touches you might like. I am sure your kids will love these crafts as much as mine do! Have a wonderful holiday, all!

Tip! Gift an afternoon tea - type up a flyer for all the neighbors in your street to come for a Christmas afternoon tea.

Christmas Gift Giving Without Spending Money

Tip! Organize an automatic bank transfer from your bank account to your Christmas Budget account. This transfer will be on each payday for the amount you worked out in step 2.

Christmas is just around the corner and you are flat broke. There are so many gifts to give. People you really want to pamper, but you don't have the money to buy decent gifts for everyone. So what do you do?

Well, you can make your own gifts.

1. The Pet Rock

Remember the pet rock craze? You can make little pets out or rocks easily.

Just take a large, smooth pebble. Stick on a pair of eyes. Glue some felt below. Write a message on the felt and you have a personalized Christmas gift.

2. Cookies

Are you good at baking?

Well go bake several batches of cookies using your best cookie recipes. Do a variety of cookies. Then decorate them. Some with M&Ms some with icing sugar, some with nuts, others with raisins.

Tip! Wish Creation - Make wishes on the eve of Christmas. This is a special time as it is the night when the Star of Bethlehem magically appeared.

Put them into little plastic bags. A few of each type of cookie in each bag. Tie the bag with a pretty ribbon. Make small, pretty cards and write a personal message on each of them. Stick the cards to the outside of that bag of cookies. Each bag of cookies makes a delightful gift for Christmas.

3. Flower gifts

Do you have a garden? Do you live near a place where wild flowers grow abundantly?

If you can pick some flowers, you can make pressed flower bookmarks. I used to do those as a kid. You arrange the flowers on a piece of white blotting paper. Put another piece of blotting paper over the flowers and put heavy books over the blotting paper to press the flowers for a few weeks. Once dried and flattened, these flowers can be glued onto book marks, photo frames and anything you might want to give as a decorative gift.

4. Handmade jewelry

You can make jewelry for the women in your family using wooden beads or even paper clips. Bracelets and necklaces are the easiest to make as all you have to do is to string the beads up and tie the loose ends together. Use a strong elastic cord for the beads so the bracelet is stretchable and can be put on or taken off easily. As for paper clips, with a pair of tweezers and some cheap plastic beads, you can make attractive paper clip earrings.

Tip! In some European countries at the end of the Christmas festive meal you must not leave the table until the host gives a signal that the Christmas feast has ended. Then all family and guests rise from the table in unison and leave.

5. Are you good at crafts like crochet?

You can make an adorable bookworm bookmark. Start off with the long string part of the bookmark. Just to simple chain stich using thick wool thread until you have a 15 inch long crochet chain. Then do 3 treble crochet stitches into each chain stitch for the last 30 chains. It would curl up into a cute curly bookworm. Stick on 2 eyes on the head and make a tassle at the other end of the chain. Once you get the hang of it, you could make these bookmarks in colorful wool to give away as Christmas gifts.

Tip! All-time Favorite Christmas Cookies - this one is readily available as an ebook for instant download.

Need more gift making ideas? Check out http://www.womanht.com/diy/gifts.htm for do it yourself gifts you might want to make from Christmas. A great way to give personal gifts without spending a bomb.

Besides making your Christmas gifts, you can get pretty impressive gifts by spending time instead of money. http://www.christmas-giftshop.com/freechristmasgifts.htm shows you where you pay for the gift by participating in surveys, instead of forking out money. If you are worried that your loved ones know that is a free gift, then go for the free gift card offers. Use the gift cards to buy Christmas gifts and no one would be any wiser.

Tip! Your diet should consist of chocolate, nuts, sweets, alcohol, watching football, lame christmas comedy specials, and plenty of films.

Become Organized this Christmas

Tip! Trail blazing Christmas excitement - yes it's true that retailers actually were the ones responsible for making Christmas popular to the masses. They extended Christmas into the wider community by decorating stores, putting on specials and adding colorful festive displays, choirs and in some cases small pantomime plays.

For most of us, we are so busy living our lives that we forget just how quickly Christmas is upon us.

Here is a list of 6 simple strategies to help you be organized this Christmas and enjoy the festive season.

1. Take the time to plan ahead this Christmas.

Set aside a morning in the last week of December or first week in November.

Get yourself a cup of coffee a notepad and pen. Take the phone off the hook, organize the children so you aren't interrupted and take half an hour to make lists for the following:

(a) Gift giving

(b) Christmas Cards

(c) Christmas Decorating

2. First let's deal with the Card List

Now that you have written out the Christmas card list, when you shop next buy the required amount of Christmas cards.

The following day divide your list into say 5, and then over the next 5 days write out your Christmas cards until the list is complete. In the last week of November post out your cards.

Tip! Beer Man sez: Merry Christmas and a Hoppy New Beer! A weaker strength beer for those watching their alcohol yet it is rich with creamy chocolate tones and a slight toasted flavor (English-style hops). www.

3. The Gift Giving List

This project is a little bigger than the last, however if you are organized it can be fun and done in a couple of weeks.

Sit down and go through the list of people you will be giving or sending a gift to this year. If you have family or friends who will need their gifts sent through the mail then they need to be put at the top of the list as you will want to take care of their presents first. (Aim to post their presents within the next two weeks)

Tip! To prevent quarrelling on Christmas day family members must place their shoes side by side Christmas Eve.

If you have been buying gifts throughout the year go through the gifts and assign them to the appropriate people on your list. (Shopping for Christmas at sale time is an excellent idea as it makes the burden a lot easier and also helps with the family budget).

Take a look again at your list, no doubt you have whittled away a few of those names. If you have presents that haven't been assigned in the Christmas gift box leave these in case you have forgotten someone or a friend drops around, then you have something to give to them.

Tip! Remember that Christmas is only one day a year. You don't have to spend a weeks worth of grocery money on one day.

For the remaining names I break these into smaller lists. Presents that need to be purchased and presents that I can make. I personally think that giving a present made by you is something special. Now before you say I can't make anything have you thought about a gift basket or gifts in a jar. They are very easy and simple to make; they look fantastic and are always well received by the recipient.

Tip! Scrooge & Marley Hazelnut Christmas AlemmDefinitely a unique name and blend for the holiday season! www.huberbrewery.

4. With list in hand - Go Shopping

This can be as easy as going to your favorite website and ordering your presents so they are delivered to your door. Otherwise, head off to your local shopping mall and buy only those presents that you have on your list.

If you have decided to make your own gift baskets here are a few simple and easy suggestions.

For a family gift make a nice Christmas-themed cookie jar. Fill it with Christmas candy or cookies! Every year when the family gets out the Christmas cookie jar, they will think of you!

Grandparents love to receive anything that grandchildren make. Do a video of the children, include a bath time, them reading or playing at school. A few minutes taken over a month or two will make an interesting video. How about a collage of photos of the grandchildren!. The children can help with this project.

A coffee cup filled with a coffee blend, some chocolate and DVD.

Tip! In some European countries at the end of the Christmas festive meal you must not leave the table until the host gives a signal that the Christmas feast has ended. Then all family and guests rise from the table in unison and leave.

How about a pampering gift basket for mom or your sister?

5. Wrapping

A time saving tip when you return from shopping, wrap and label as many gifts as you can and store them away until the big day.

Presents that are being posted, need to be wrapped and posted ASAP.

6. Christmas Decorations

Personally I hate dragging the decorations out each year and putting up the tree. But the look on my son's face when the house and tree have been decorated is worth the effort.

Tip! All-time Favorite Christmas Cookies - this one is readily available as an ebook for instant download.

Each year when you are putting away the decorations, make sure they are working. If not, throw them out - don't pack broken or unwanted items. I add an item to the tree each year for my young son. This allows us to reminisce about what has happened over the last year and spend some quality family time together.

Tip! When next Christmas comes around withdraw your money and repeat the process again.

Put aside an afternoon and make a decoration with your children it doesn't have to be expensive. I have little boxes under the tree that have their hand prints and a special message.

Lastly enjoy Christmas. With a little bit of planning, everyone can participate in wrapping presents, giving the presents and mostly, enjoying the family time together.
